Warranty Terms & Conditions

General Terms:

  • Equipment is used and is subject to minor scratches and flaws including but not limited to, scratches, dents, gouges, thin cracks, and discoloration. LCD panels may have scratches, spots, gouges, or dead pixels.
  • PCs and laptops are covered under a 90 day warranty excluding the battery.
  • Lantek makes no guarantee of battery life. Batteries are used and only covered under a 7-day DOA warranty. DOA is defined as completely dead when as the laptop is unplugged from the power source.
  • When a warranty extension is purchased, the warranty goes into effect from the original purchase date and not from the end of the 90 day original warranty. This is a warranty extension up to one year.
  • Equipment is not accompanied by a manual or drivers, most documentation, manuals, and drivers are available for download from the manufacturer’s website.

Repairs:

  • Equipment that is in need of repair can be dropped off or shipped to Lantek and it will be worked on in the order it was received.
  • Repairs are not performed by appointment, as walk-in, or as you wait, there are no exceptions.
  • Turn around time of repairs will vary based on availability of parts and staff. Lantek makes no guarantee of amount of time necessary for repairs, however we will do the best we can to get it done as quickly as possible.

  • The warranty does not provide loaner or back up equipment during the repair process.

Replacements:

  • The warranty covers parts and labor necessary for the repair of non-functional equipment. Equipment is not replaced under warranty unless deemed un-repairable by Lantek’s service department.
  • In the event that a unit needs replacement it will be replaced with the same model and configuration when available, or a model with comparable specifications with the unit being replaced.
  • Replacement will be made based on the specifications of the original unit and not on original purchase price.

Software:

  • The operating system will be restored to the original software when repaired under warranty.
  • Lantek is not responsible for any data or software lost during the repair process. It is the user’s responsibility to keep a current back-up of all data or software.
  • Units do not come with software recovery media.
  • PCs and laptops are sold with only the operating system and no other software. Units do not come with Microsoft Office.

Shipping:

  • LANtek uses a third party carrier for shipping and can not be held responsible for damages incurred during shipping or delays in shipping, pickup, or drop off. All equipment shipped via a carrier is insured for the purchase price.
  • In the event that equipment needs to be shipped to Lantek for repair the customer assumes all responsibility of shipping charges. Return shipment of repaired equipment is at LANtek’s expense.

Exclusions:

  • Warranties exclude loss or damage caused by accidental or physical damage, spilled liquids, insect infestation, misuse, abuse, or damage caused by lightening, building electrical and wiring problems, unauthorized repair personnel, or closing lid on object (i.e. Pens/Pencils).
  • Software issues caused by the user and or third party software, utilities, etc. are not covered under the warranty.
  • Equipment with missing or altered serial numbers will not be covered under warranty
